1. The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,

2. What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?
Ier 31.29
In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. ;Pl
Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities. ;SMS

3. As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.

4. Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
Ezec 18.20
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. ;Rom 6.23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ;SMS

5. But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,

6. And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman,

7. And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment;

Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbor. ;Lev 25.14
And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbor, or buyest ought of thy neighbor's hand, ye shall not oppress one another: ;Ex 22.26
If thou at all take thy neighbor's raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down: ;Deut 24.12-13
And if the man be poor, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge: ;Deut 15.7-8
If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: ;Isa 58.7
Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? ;SMS

8. He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man,

If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury. ;Lev 25.36-37
Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee. ;Deut 23.19
Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of any thing that is lent upon usury: ;Neem 5.7
Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them. ;Ps 15.5
He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved. ;Deut 1.16
And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him. ;Zah 8.16
These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: ;SMS

9. Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.
Ezec 20.11
And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them. ;Amos 5.4
For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live: ;SMS

10. If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things,
