1. For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:
Fapt 11.29
Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea: ;Rom 15.26
For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem. ;1Cor 16.1
Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. ;2Cor 8.4
Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints. ;Gal 2.10
Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do. ;
2. For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.
2Cor 8.19
And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind: ;2Cor 8.24
Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf. ;2Cor 8.10
And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago. ;
3. Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:
2Cor 8.6-22
Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also. ;
4. Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.
5. Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.
6. But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Prov 11.24
There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. ;Prov 19.17
He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. ;Prov 22.9
He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor. ;Gal 6.7-9
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. ;
7. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Deut 15.7
If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: ;Ex 25.2
Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering. ;Ex 35.5
Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass, ;Prov 11.25
The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. ;Rom 12.8
Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. ;2Cor 8.12
For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. ;
8. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Prov 11.24-25
There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. ;Prov 28.27
He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. ;Filip 4.19
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. ;
9. (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
Ps 112.9
He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour. ;
10. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
Isa 55.10
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: ;Osea 10.12
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. ;Mat 6.1
Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. ;
